From: Expression of miR-720 is correlated with DNMT3 in Oral squamous cell carcinomas
RT-PCR screening of mRNA and microRNA. mRNA for the differentiation marker DNMT1 was observed only among the normal, non-cancerous cell lines (Hs27, HGF-1), while expression of the CpG-island methylator phenotype (CIMP) markers DNMT3a and DNMT3b were observed only among the squamous cell carcinoma cells (SCC4, SCC9, SCC15 and CAL27). Differential expression of miR-720 was observed with little to no expression among the slowest growing cells (Hs27, HGF-1, SCC4) and more robust expression among the faster growing cells (SCC9, SCC15, SCC25 and CAL27)
